[So Garrosh has been living in a camp on the rough edges of the Farmlands for the last few weeks. The hermitage isn't exactly pleasant, but it is better than being in a village full of repugnant, apathetic, humans. He's considering constructing a proper house, because despite his best efforts to the contrary, the tent he's in is pretty darn cold. There's a few Farm buildings he's taken to crawling into when it gets too cold and there's a large fire he keeps up too.

Not that it's easy. The snow here is thick, far thicker than either Durotar or Nagrand (less than Northrend though, which is why the cold isn't bothering him too much) and it's making hunting a nightmare. Foraging too. Garrosh is smart enough to objectively know that especially since the heavier snow this last weekend, he's barely making it by. Still, he's not going to go into town and use that grocery thing. No sir. That'd be showing weakness to an enemy. Still, all these hardships just make him want to go and get in a real fight. Gorehowl thirsts for blood, particularly with how impudent many are here.

But he reigns in that anger. He'll explode it on his enemies (he needs to constantly remind himself the humans in that village aren't Alliance) later. Instead, he picks up his journal again. It's been some time since he opened it. The last time he did there were disappointing, but people have told him it's a source for information and he himself realizes it's an important part of the community of this enclosure. So he opens and... "Youth is love."

Really. Really? He almost slams the book shut again, but he reigns that in and, snarling, goes to make his own entry]

[Voice/Action]
Are these tomes actually used for anything useful? [Which he knows is a useless question in and of itself, but. The anger in his voice is obvious and right now he doesn't care] Entries about love, random sounds and pointless sentences, gossip. [He snarls and just. Leaves it at that] Though, I suppose asking a question seems to fit with a pattern, leafing back.

[And with that he's done. However, you can talk to him in voice or encounter him at his camp in person! Garrosh does have love and hate triggers for the event. Also after this post, sometime within the next few days, one of the people he's interested in now or some other force or something will get him to actually come to the village, so you might see an eight foot tall tattooed orc in full armor (but with a cloak on over the armor) standing around the village as if looking for something to catch his interest. You might also run into him probing the door of Good Spirits (though not actually inside, probably), in Seventh Heaven (to see what's up with it) and finally, bunking at the Welcome Center if no one takes him home or anything like that.

It is not? [A low grumbling growl she just can't control starts up deep in her throat.] The Malnosso? Is that their magic?

I don't know yet. Someone must be responsible for it, but I've met several confident they'll return from death.

To be reborn is reserved to those of the highest honor. That everyone thinks they are entitled is to dishonor those who have received that gift.

Maybe in your world. In Azeroth, the dead don't return, no matter how worthy they might be.

It is a very rare occurrence. It has yet to happen in my lifetime or that of my mother's life. Some do not believe it to be true, only in legend. [Although her mom believes in it, so she does as well.]

A legend... [He inhales, and then nods] There are similar legends in the history of peoples I know. [Though none of them are true. Probably]

[Oooh. Could this be leading to some story telling. She's always enjoyed a good legend story.]

Are there? So perhaps it is true, yet, people do not realize it is happening.

[gorehowl]

I doubt it. The dead earn their return to the spirits, and a return of them would limit the ability of those still alive to gain honor.

But they come back when the land is in most need of their past wisdom and strength!

[gorehowl]

Leave the land to the living [he says this as he picks out the parts of the berries which can't be eaten. Lots of hairs in there, ugh] and let the descendants of heroes live up to the legacy of their name.

Hmm. [She'd argue, but her mouth if full of rabbit. If he was going to eat his berries she's going to eat her yummy rabbit.]

[...Hmm. Something rumbles a bit as he finishes pulling the hairs out of this one and pops it in his mouth, and he then taps Gorehowl's handle before-] What are you, Xzana?

[elongatedsmile]

[She finishes her bite before answering.] I am a half blood. My mother was a changeling dragon, my father belonged to the water nymphs.

[gorehowl]

Water... nymph? [He's not familiar with that. He tries to think of a frame of reference. ...Changeling is also weird, but he doesn't want to seem totally foolish] What type of people are those?

[elongatedsmile]

[She lets herself slide a little closer to Garrosh, trying to tell herself it was to be closer to the fire.]

They are the keepers of the water. They are the ones who help the waters stay clear and fresh. They will protect the water from any who may harm it by taking too many fish. They allow dams to be made or will obliterate them if they are going to cause too much damage to the waters.

They also, long, long ago when the humans were low in number one of the creatures who blessed them with magic. So long as humans would not abuse their power and would help continue to protect the water as the water nymphs do.

Humans... [There's a low growl at that, but he nods with some understanding.] In Azeroth, that task falls onto the Sea Giants. [And then a short laugh] Though I can only assume these nymphs look more appealing than if you were part-giant!

[elongatedsmile]

No, I have never seen a giant yet. Are they really that bad to look at?

[gorehowl]

The sea giants, certainly. Covered in barnacles and pot-marked faces and coated in slime.

[elongatedsmile]

And I? I do not look displeasing, do I? [She slides just the tiniest bit closer. She's never felt her heart move so fast before. Not even in battle.]

[gorehowl]

[For some reason, he wasn't expecting that question. In Nagrand, women have much higher station than in most orc culture and he himself has had other duties... basically all his life. But perhaps the oddest thing is that it comes from someone who is a dragon. An admitted one. He looks sheepish for just a moment before rumbling out-]

You could do with a pair of tusks in my opinion, but no. Not particularly displeasing.

[She's not displeasing, but not perfect. For some reason this hurts her more than she thought it would.]

I am sorry, I do not know of any dragon or water nymph to ever have tusks.

As a dragon, don't you chose this form you're in now? The flights of Azeroth do. [As far as he knows]

I do choose this form. But all my other forms have fangs, not tusks. This form is slightly quicker and easier to move around in the forest with.

Do you not like it? I could change.

[gorehowl]

Mmm. [And he rumbles in the back of his throat again, a little frustrated. He missed a hair in that last berry, he gags a bit with it stuck in his throat. Ugh] I wouldn't say that, but I'd see your other forms.

Would you really like to see my other forms? [She wants to be sure first. Changing forms has never been comfortable to her, but for Garrosh she would gladly show him both.]
